Garkane Energy - Safety Programs Available for Schools, Civic Groups
Garkane Energy is pleased to offer safety programs for groups of all ages. According to Carl Albrecht, Garkane's CEO, the programs are part of the cooperative's ongoing effort to educate our members about the safe use of electricity. "We particularly enjoy presenting this important information in our area schools," said Albrecht. "We've found that kids not only learn to keep themselves out of harm's way, but they also go home and point out bad habits that some of us have adopted over the years."
Hidden Account #: 000018655 - Please call Garkane's Loa Office to apply a $25 power credit to your account. Next month (January) look in UREA Introduction page for the hidden account number. We'll try to make it a little harder each month. Good Luck!
Albrecht was also quick to point out that Garkane's Safety Programs aren't just for kids. "We're more than willing to visit civic clubs and organizations, church groups, volunteer fire departments, and any other interested parties to spread the word about electrical safety," he said. Garkane has both outdoor and indoor safety presentations. Outdoor presentations feature our High Voltage Safety Demonstration Trailer. The trailer is connected to our power lines and provides a strong visual message of the immense power of electrical energy. Indoor presentations include hands-on experiments and demonstrations which explain how electricity works and safety practices to protect people and property. Information pamphlets and workbooks which are tailored to specific age groups are also available.
Safety programs are provided free of charge to the sponsoring organizations. If you are interested in scheduling a program, please contact Marcus Lewis or Marion Chappell at 1-800-747-5403, or Tom Barton at 1-888-644-5026. We look forward to visiting with your group in the near future!
